SAFE. NATURAL. BEAUTIFUL.

Lumecca is an advanced IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment designed to improve the appearance of pigmented and vascular skin concerns. Unlike traditional skincare products, which work primarily at the surface of the skin, IPL uses carefully selected wavelengths of light to target specific chromophores within the skin.
The light energy is absorbed by pigment and blood vessels, helping to break down unwanted pigmentation and reduce the appearance of vascular concerns. Lumecca can be used on areas such as the face, neck, décolletage, hands and other areas affected by sun damage or uneven pigmentation, following an individual assessment.

WHAT CAN LUMECCA TREAT?
Lumecca IPL can be used to target a range of common pigmentation and vascular concerns, including:
-
Sun damage and sun spots
-
Freckles
-
Age spots
-
Uneven pigmentation
-
Redness
-
Broken capillaries
-
Visible small blood vessels
-
Rosacea-related redness
-
Uneven skin tone
Your skin will be assessed during your consultation to determine whether Lumecca is suitable for your individual concerns and skin type.
HOW DOES LUMECCA WORK?
Lumecca delivers controlled pulses of broad-spectrum light into the skin. Specific wavelengths are absorbed by melanin within pigmented areas and by haemoglobin within visible blood vessels. This targeted energy creates a controlled thermal effect, helping the body naturally clear the treated pigment and improve the appearance of vascular lesions.
Over time, this can result in a brighter, more even and clearer looking complexion. The treatment is tailored according to your skin, the area being treated and the concern being addressed.

WHY CHOOSE LUMECCA IPL?
Lumecca is designed to deliver powerful, targeted IPL energy while allowing treatment to be customised to the individual.
TARGETED TREATMENT
Lumecca can target specific pigmentation and vascular concerns without treating the entire skin surface in the same way.
BRIGHTER, MORE EVEN-LOOKING SKIN
By addressing visible pigmentation and redness, treatment can help create a more uniform complexion.
MULTIPLE TREATMENT AREAS
Lumecca can be used on a number of areas, including the face, neck, décolletage and hands, depending on suitability.
MINIMAL DISRUPTION
Lumecca treatments are relatively quick, with little interruption to your normal routine for many patients. Some temporary redness, darkening of pigmentation or mild swelling can occur following treatment.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT?
Your treatment begins with a consultation and skin assessment. We will discuss your concerns, medical history, skincare routine, previous treatments and your desired outcome.
1. Your skin is cleansed
The treatment area is prepared and any relevant products or makeup are removed.
2. Your eyes are protected
Appropriate eye protection is used throughout the treatment.
3. The Lumecca handpiece is applied
Controlled pulses of light are delivered to the treatment area.
4. The skin is assessed
We will monitor your skin’s response throughout the treatment and adjust the treatment parameters where appropriate.
After treatment, soothing products may be applied and you will be given personalised aftercare advice.

WHAT DOES LUMECCA FEEL LIKE?
Most people describe the pulses of light as a quick snapping or flicking sensation, sometimes compared to the feeling of a small elastic band against the skin.
Treatment is generally quick, although comfort levels vary between individuals and treatment areas. We will talk you through the process and make your comfort a priority throughout your appointment.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER LUMECCA?
Immediately after treatment, the skin may appear slightly red or warm. Pigmented areas can temporarily become darker or more noticeable before gradually fading as the treated pigment is naturally cleared by the body.
You may also experience mild swelling, particularly around areas such as the cheeks or under the eyes. These effects are temporary and form part of the expected treatment response.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of treatments required varies from person to person and depends on factors including:
-
The type and extent of pigmentation
-
The area being treated
-
Your individual skin characteristics
-
The severity of vascular concerns
-
Your response to treatment
-
Your treatment goals
Some concerns may show noticeable improvement after a single treatment, while a course of treatments may be recommended for more extensive pigmentation or vascular concerns.
LUMECCA AFTERCARE

Protect your skin from direct sun exposure
-
Use a broad-spectrum SPF as advised
-
Avoid excessive heat immediately following the treatment
-

-

-

Your individual aftercare instructions will depend on your treatment and skin response.

LUMECCA FAQ
Is Lumecca the same as a laser?
No. Lumecca is an IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment rather than a laser. IPL uses a broad spectrum of light wavelengths, whereas lasers typically use a specific wavelength.
Can Lumecca treat pigmentation?
Yes. Lumecca is specifically designed to target pigmentation, including certain types of sun damage, freckles and age spots. Suitability depends on the type of pigmentation and your individual skin characteristics.
Can Lumecca help with redness?
Lumecca can be used to target certain vascular concerns and visible redness by delivering light energy that is absorbed by haemoglobin within blood vessels.
LUMECCA FAQ
Can I have Lumecca if I have a tan?
Recent tanning or significant sun exposure can affect whether IPL treatment is appropriate. Your skin will need to be assessed before treatment, and you may be advised to postpone treatment until your skin has returned to its usual baseline.
Is there any downtime after Lumecca?
Lumecca generally involves minimal downtime, but temporary redness, swelling and darkening of pigmentation can occur.
Is Lumecca suitable for darker skin tones?
IPL treatment requires careful assessment because melanin in the skin can also absorb light energy. We will assess your individual skin type, pigmentation and treatment goals to determine whether Lumecca is appropriate and what alternatives may be available.
